π Breast Screening Saves Lives
Breast screening is one of the most effective ways to detect breast cancer early β often before any symptoms are noticed. Finding cancer at an early stage can make treatment more successful and significantly improve survival rates. In England, women aged 50 to 71 are routinely invited for breast screening every 3 years as part of the NHS Breast Screening Programme. If you are over 71, you can still request screening. Screening uses a low-dose X-ray (mammogram) to identify changes in breast tissue that may be too small to see or feel. Why attending screening matters β Early detection saves lives β Treatment is more effective when cancer is found early β Screening can detect cancer before symptoms appear β Most people screened are reassured that no cancer is present When you will be invited You will automatically receive an invitation letter between ages 50 and 71. If you think you missed your appointment, you can contact your local screening service to rearrange. π Learn more about bre
